MEDS for certain Arrhythmias
1) Sinus Bradycardia (symptomatic)
o Epinephrine
o Atropine
o Dopamine
o Transcutaneous pacemaker (TCP)
o (may need CPR for extremely HR)
2) Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA) à main cause is Hypovolemia
o Epinephrine
o CPR
o Vasopressin
Ø Hypovolemia
Ø Hyperkalemia
Ø Hypokalemia
Ø Hypoxemia
Ø Hypothermia
Ø (these are the cause of PEA, the main one is hypovolemia)
3) Asystole
o Epinephrine
o CPR
o Vasopressin
4) Atrial fibrillation/Flutter
o Amiodarone (or Lidocain if Amiodarone is not available)
o Diltiazem (cardizem) or
o Digitalis (digoxin)
o Synchronized Cardioversion
5) Ventricular Tachycardia (with pulse)
o Amiodarone (Lidocain if no amiodarone is available)
o Synchronized Cardioversion
6) Pulseless Ventricular Tachycardia (V-Tach with no pulse)
o Epinephrine
o Amiodarone
o Vasopressin
o Defibrillation
o CPR
7) Ventricular Fibrillation
o Epinephrine
o Amiodarone
o Vasopressin
o Defibrillation
o CPR
8) Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT)
o Amiodarone
o Adenosine
o Diltazem (cardizem) or
o Digitalis (digoxin)
o Synchronized Cardioversion
